I have to ask Mr Wyandottey before I bring any of his tribe out of his eyesight. I just tell him bluntly, with an authoritative voice . And never look away while speaking to him. Chooks can read human intentions by our facial expressions and eye contact.
Here we go again. The farmers are spraying chemicals on the almond orchard across the highway. They started at 04:00 this morning. I let the chooks out early so they get a fighting chance away from the dust and insecticides. They can hide under the house if needed.

Another night alone. No chooks in the house. This place feels empty without them cooing and clucking me a good night. But I’ll be fine, I can take a jacuzzi bath without interruption. And have a snack later, without a beak stuck in my food! I still have a Subway sandwich leftover from today. :D
