Not sure what your setup was for sand... the cats don't use the sandbox during the day while the hens are out & about... so since stray cats are nocturnal wanderers we cover the sandbox at dusk w/ a thick beach pad ~ no more cat poop.I tried that, but we have too many stray cats in my compound. Imagine what my chooks would smell like, playing in a kitty litter sewer?

Not much of a difference at 3000 ft. Same atmosphere as ground level. But it could be a problem if the vector is a higher altitude say 8000+ ft. My mountain is 12000 ft at summit. Marie never reaches so high
