Too hot?
It has been reaching high temps here in MD, today it's 99*F, yesterday it was like 102*f. My geese are acting unusual today. They don't want to leave their run, and they keep spitting up water. One of my white gosling's has been standing on her tippy toes when she walks, and falls down... -

Can't figure out what he is
I have a little goose who is supposed to be toulouse...but he has me stumped as to what he really is. He has one black foot, and one orange foot, a black bill, brown & white feathering but has a white stripe that comes up to his shoulders from his chest. Here are a couple pictures..any help... -

I called the vet, he agreed to see me right away, he took a look at Duke. His bottom jaw on the left side is broken, the wound on the side of his face is already infected. He said he could try to put his jaw back together, but it's not probable that it will work because they use their bills for...- DulcyDoll

Something got ahold of a gosling.
I'm not sure the vet would be able to do anything, the beak is completely gone from end to end one one side. He also has some wounds on his back. He is trying to eat and drink, but can't get anything scooped up. His tongue is resting on the edge of the remaining piece. I'll call the vet and...- DulcyDoll

I got home late, and just went back to put them in for the night (they were in their run, covered) and found one of my toulouse goslings is missing most of his bottom bill. So, how do I tell whether I have an African or Toulouse?
Can you get a better shot of their faces? You can tell by the top of their beak (where it meets their face) If it is more square or u shaped then it is Toulouse, if it is round then it is African. -

They can go in the water as soon as you want them to, but make sure they don't chill after. If your putting a pan in the brooder, be prepared for a mess when you get home, lol maybe before you leave. My guys get a gallon jug with a hole cut for their heads to fit in when they are in the brooder... -
