Hello,
My husband and I recently started our poultry adventure. We have all different types of birds. We started with just some straight run chicks form the farm store, but have recently been getting some babies from a private breeder. They are so much fun to watch grow and change. We have...
I don't know if the mites are making him sick or not, but he is sick, you can see it in his eyes. I would put some antiobiotic in his water and mabe give him some Vet RX and some vitamins/electrolites. Also, see if you can get him to eat some scrambled eggs. If you start seeing blood in his poop...
If it would be allowed I would be happy to send someone some mixed eggs if they just want to hatch some egg layers. I have RI Reds, Comets, White Leggers all laying for me right now. The rooster that are with them are Sex Link, Silver Laced Wyndotts and RI Red.
Again, the babies would be muts...
The eggs stay until someone takes them or until I have something else to offer. This is what I can offer.
12+ coturnix quail eggs or 6 OEG Bantam eggs but they will be mutts too.
My standards are all mutts and my Cochin's aren't laying right now. I am hoping with the weather getting cooler I...

I have a Bantam Cochin with a really bad case of bumble foot. I had to to actually cut into her foot to get all the crap out. It took me a good 6 to 8 weeks to get her healed up good. I kept antiobiotic in her water as well as kept neosproin in the foot. Keep the foot clean and dry and...
Hey Sharon and John,
That is all I have right now. My Cochin's are refusing to lay. I have mixed standards but none pure. I also have mixed bantam, but not pure. I have buttons too, but they don't seem to go well. See you guys soon.

Jenjscott - Wow quick shipping and 13 eggs (only 12 made it). I wasn't even expecting them yet. Great Packaging, not sure how that 13th egg could have gotten cracked.
I put them all in the bator this morning.
Thanks.

They are mix. Some Tux, some golden, some brown some whites. There are no golden males and females in the same pen. We keep those seperate and eat those eggs.

That 1st one is beautiful. I just started raising these and my male has a little too much red but he is still young he has not molted yet. We will see how he looks in the spring. I have a few of his off spring and the one pullet is absolutely beautiful.

I am also starting with these. I have a pair and they are show quality or so I was told form the people I bought them from. My hen is a splash and my roo is more like your darker one. More of the true red and blue colors. I think that this is what is standard. I really haven't seen many with...
They are soooo cute. They get big quick, so enjoy them. If the other haven't hatched, go ahead and open them. They most likely did not make it, but you may still have one or two still alive that just need a hand.
Good Luck,
Teresa

Watched eggs don't peep. They hatch pretty quick once they do start peeping. IF you can imagine a big bumble bee with legs that is what the little ones will look like. They are really tiny.

My adults (original layers) are 2 males and 3 females originally and they layed 3 eggs a day like clockwork. One of my females died, so now I have 2 and 2 and they are still laying fine. I have read that they do best in pairs that they actually choose and keep a mate. I just don't have...
