I never thought about this co2 way before. I have a few chickens (we have 300) that the winter was very hard on. :-( And it seems some got frostbit and are coming to the end of the process (thanks -30 temps)...
I may need to do this... agh.. I hate chicken farming...
One of my turkeys has a very swollen face and watery eyes. I am leaving for almost 2 weeks and just noticed this. My daughter said it has been a bit swollen for a few days. Help.... It is hot and his eyes are watering- but he can see.
Oh yeah he was our free bird! lol... So that is why we had no idea what he was. My daughter is using him for her showmanship bird this week at fair, so I thought it a good idea to know what the heck he is!
He is quite pretty! :-)
Thank you!!!
We got this little guy with our meat bird order from McMurray, but I tried looking on their website and they have no images that look like him.
He is 4 months old- bantam, v comb
My neighbor said she has some females I could buy... Maybe I will try that- my girls are totally mad and sad that we are even suggesting to butcher them.
I have 2 pelkin male ducks that were born around Easter. I also have 2 other male ducks born 2 weeks later. They are fighting with my chickens- will not let them by water.
Now they are not going to lay eggs and so I am thinking about butchering them out this weekend. Will they continue to be...
My baby chicks are already 4 weeks old right now so I don't think she would take to them if I gave her any.
It is not that I want to break the broody out of her- I would rather her hatch eggs- just not reject them and sit with nothing- it seems like such a waste of summer to be sitting on an...
I don't think she is sick. My husband has said he has seen her eating. And if she was not eating she would be dead by now- it has been more than a week. I have another hen who is on eggs and they are not hatching and it is just driving me crazy!
I got a surprise chicken from McMurray with the meat birds about 4 weeks ago. As a chick it looked like an EEer, and actually the marking still do. BUT, it has a V comb and I have never had an EEer with a V comb... Can EEers have them?
I have a little silkie hen who turned into an egg machine this spring- like an egg a day from her. Last week she would not move from her nest. We checked- no eggs under her. So the next day, still there- so we gave her 2 eggs. She rejected both. WHAT? So now she has been sitting for a week with...
Someone gave us a rooster (I should not have taken him) and he has mites. I have been treating him for more than a month- and we still have mites. Luckley they have not gotten on my 200 other birds- even though they wander around his cage. They are huge dust bathers and I treat their dusting...
I had one hen sitting on eggs above our next box room (about 7 feet up) and another laying on eggs on sheet metal in our rafters.
We were able to move the one on the nest box room to a crate with her eggs a few hours ago- but she scattered her eggs and is not laying on them. What should I do...
The shipping could be a factor- but not a large one. I got 45 from Townline and they were all alive and fine. I also got 101 broders from McMurray and all were fine but one in shipping. So, shipping is stressful, yes, but not a factor in all or nearly all chicks dying- and it sounds like a lot...
I should say, I am not new to having chickens and baby chicks either. So, when I contacted them they went down the "too hot?" "enough water" and so on... I had to send them a picture of my coop to show them, they are spread out, with water and food and they are still just dying. It was so...
