    We often have a number of eggs in the incubator that are set at different dates. We move them to a hatcher i build on lockdown day. I use pencil to mark the eggs but would like to use a Sharpie. Will a Sharpie hurt the eggs/chicks? Thanks

    Honora - congrats. I guess I have to wait until April. My BF's are bigger than the other egg layers but only 6 months old. Post a pic of the egg - was it small or large?

    Big time thanks. The roosters are taking their librerties with the other hens. The Bielfelder hens have nothing to do with them.

    Faraday40, The experts will have to answer the color questions. I know mine are 3rd generation from Greenfire farms who supposedly have original German stock. Anyway - nice looking birds.

    JR - not only do their toenails destroy a paint job but they leave a "deposit" for good measure. I have three hens, call the "Twisted Sisters", who frequent the truck, tractor, the roof, the pontoon boat, etc. Thank heavens I do not have neighbors, at least for now. Sparky
