A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

First off apologies to those of you with a foot of snow on the ground. It has been summer down here in Houston. We get a day or two of winter then back to summer. 81 on Christmas!!!

The three girls here behind the dog are the TWISTED SISTERS. They are two Porters Blue Red Bronze and a Sweetgrass. You can count on them getting flying over the fence every morning and evening. The will be on the roof, clothesline, everywhere. The rest of the crew is rather well behaved save for the recent gangland beatdown of my older Slate tom. There is a truce in place for the time being.

I have a couple of Narri hens but these are going to be the core of my breeding stock. I have a Sweetgrass tom for one of them and will put the other two with a Narragansett tom. Should get some interesting results.

Just introducing my flock to the group that meets here. More to follow....

Sparky

Welcome @Hardemans ! Gorgeous birds! It looks beautiful down there. Right now, there may not be snow on the ground at the moment but it's still cold :/ Snow tomorrow supposedly.

Aurora the flock looks great! I still think Pebbles & Sweet Pea are stunning. And just love the mottled! I wish Adam wasn't such a bellybutton. I had to laugh about the girls hiding eggs! Reports of hens laying are slowly rolling in.

Ralph, Coffee should be happy with Snowflake! What a sweet girl. She was just giving you a hen hug! You snuggle those show birds, you need to hug your turkey hens more! :D

Beautiful flock Sparky! Can't wait to see the results from your Narri breedings. I got a kick out of the flock standing there watching the Twisted Sisters. I'm surprised that others haven't tried to fly over the fence too. Every time one of my bird tries something new, the rest have to follow!

Feedman, the solor is a great idea. Nice!

HI All, I have been soooo bad and haven't come to BYC for way to long But life seems to happen and I'm super bad at posting and checking in. Hope everyone had a Great X-Mas and new Year, we have had 3 already and another 1 scheduled for this Sat then we are done,,,yeah,,, family scattered everywhere... I LOVE my new girl i got from Ralphie today she is Beautiful... and she is Super sweet like he said. she let my husband pick her up out of the kennel and hold her before he set her in her new winter pen to be quarantined.. not sure why i need to bother with that since most of my birds are from Ralphie anyways..But we did put her with a Porter (Ralphies Porter) baby girl because the other day the pack of 10 guineas was on top of her plucking all her feathers out and trying to kill her for some reason, poor thing was all bloody by the time i got to her. she just laid there and let me pick her up so i put her in the nursery coop (corn crib we set up) she is doing good and now has company and they seem to be getting along fine so far. We took our new Baby girl , choc lab MaPiya over to meet Ralphie and Judy today and she did pretty good she seemed to like their dog Pearl who tolerated MaPiya but i think she was to much puppy for his old girl,,LOL,,,but even she tolerated her as long as MaPiya didnt get to close to her resting area. I now have a kitten in my house that i didn't want his name is Pretty but i should call him Weasel since he weaseled his way into the house and refuses to go back out, I found him half froze and was all bones he seemed to be about 6 wks when we found him, now he is about 10 wks and a moose already, I will try to post couple pics if i can remember how. well i better say goodbye for now and maybe try to do some BYC reading before bed, I will try and get on here more i do enjoy it, but I'm Super Bad about checking in and we all know it..LOl.....SEE now the dog is barking...arrrggg Life Happens...
