Anyone ever see a chicken with no feet?
I got this chicken from my brother after his dog killed the rest of their chickens. She came to my house very injured and frostbitten. The wounds on her body healed but the feet were too far gone and just fell off. She still gets around though and...
Is this a hen or roo.
It is a Buff Orpington.
She is about 4 months old.
I got this one from a guy that had a lot of chickens in a pen that was
too small, consequently they were picking feathers, and killing each other.
The one in the picture is missing a lot of feathers and underfeathers...
they are americanas.
What do you think?
They are 3 1/2 months old.
Also what color do you think they would be classified?
Anyone have pics of their 3 1/2 month old americanas?
My friend has about 7 RIR hens and she is only getting 2 eggs a day. Nothing in their coop or surrounding area has changed, they appear healthy. Any ideas as to what might be causing such low egg production.
She is thinking of getting them all butchered if they don't start to lay soon.
I have two chickens that I got from my brother after his dog killed the rest of them and they both had frostbite on part of their comb, it turned black and fell off. One of the chickens even lost a foot to frostbite. She still gets around like the rest of them. The only thing she can't do it...
Do they normally try to get chickens?
We have had one on our property the last
few days and I was just wondering if they
attack chickens. I haven't seen it near the coop
yet, but am going to try to catch it wednesday.
From a distance it looks really skinny, maybe really old.
Is there any way to get my roo to stop attacking me.
He does it when I get too near the cage or reach in to
get the food dish. He is in his own cage because the hens were getting freaky, they were afraid of everything, and when I took him out they returned to normal, they are very friendly and...
Anyone every try the ADM Alliance Layer food?
I use it and they love it. I also mix cracked corn in with it in the winter for warmth. It is pretty cheap also. Only $10 for 50 pounds.
Here are pics of my pets and other animals. Feel free to share pics of yours.
This is my family of horses.
The one standing is the daddy, the one with the blanket is the mommy, and the other is the baby.
This is my kitty Shiner. (can you guess why I named her that)
bunnies
Some...
sorry to hear that, we had a horse die after we only had him for about a month, it is hard when you lose a horse, even if it was just for a short time. You can never find a replacement you just have to find another to help fill the void.
This is my coop, transformed from an old glider swing.
I only paid about $50 for the wire, staples and tarps.
Although I do have to spend more soon to buy some plywood to help keep them warm.
My Americauna hens stopped laying last week.
Do they normally stop so early or could it be something else? I have a roo in with them, could that be it. When I first got them I didn't have the roo.
In my experience with calves and cows, I would suggest wood or pipe fencing to be sure that they would not get out. You could use 4-6 16' farm gates and get a nice strong pen.
Aloe Vera
Try to find an aloe vera juice or drink.
I was suffering from heartburn every day
and it was bad. I took about 2 oz of aloe
vera juice a day for a couple weeks and
now I only get heartburn once in a while when
I eat something I shouldn't.
