Is there any way to get my roo to stop attacking me.
He does it when I get too near the cage or reach in to
get the food dish. He is in his own cage because the hens were getting freaky, they were afraid of everything, and when I took him out they returned to normal, they are very friendly and are not afraid of me when he is not in there with them. He uses his spurs and his beak. Is there any way to get him to quit, I would rather try something, because the last resort will be having him for dinner.

There are some ways to try to tame a roo... Some advocate picking him up by the feet and hanging upside down when he gets agressive, etc.

Basically though, roosters protect their flock and some are more aggressive than others.

Do a search for 'agressive and rooster' and see what you can find - there are other threads on this topic on the forum with lots of good advice.

Good luck with hiim!
