I'm so sorry about you're birds.... I think you might consider maybe keeping a close eye on the coop and the rest of the birds. Because I think what you're two birds had was pneumonia, and just in case another starts acting this way.... listen to her/his breathing, if you hear rasping, put vet r...
I mean, he didn't make it..... and he was just getting better. but i think i know what it is now, well when he died he was still warm and limp so i check his mouth, which had slime in it, so he had Chronic Respiratory Disease, or CRD. Which if you google for chickens, he had all the symptoms....:(
In the winter its really cold, and snows to much.. then once the snow melts, its a total mud hole, then it will snow again. then once its spring it rains like a whole bunch, then its a mud hole again. and in the morning the mud freezes and you twist your ankle. then in the summer its so freaking...
This is kinda like my rooster, his tail was drooped like that... but he didn't pant, and I had to help him eat and drink. I recommend, electrolytes and give her a shot of antibiotics. IF this is the same thing... and also try a heat lamp.
Ok, so I called a silkie buddy of mine and she said to give him a shot of antibiotics, so my mom did, and he is feeling better! he is eating by himself and is drinking by himself. he has been talking and is now itching the inside of his wing... :love
