Am hoping someone is interested as these little guys have until 4-30-13 and then my husband is putting them down . I'd much rather find them a new place then cull them.
Free to a good home . Available : 2 ( 1 year old) white silkie roosters. Good little birds that I would love to find new homes for. 4 roosters are 2, too many if you get my drift. So I am keeping 2 and have the other 2 up for adoption. Hope someone can use them.
My broodie Silkie was sitting on 10 eggs, as of today 3 have hatched ...7 more to go! They are just the cutest! The eggs belong to her and her "sister" silkie , the only roosters I have are cochins ..... should be interesting looking babies

Silkies are a bantam chicken. I just love them . I have 2 black silkie hens. My roosters are full size cochins . I have a silkie that is broodie and I have let her sit on only on her and her "sisters" eggs . It will be interesting to see what hatches .

I am wondering about the Dust used for mites.... does anyone worry the Chickens will eat any of it if they root through the wood chips or is it safe for them if they do? Sorry to sound stupid but I have never used the dust as I have been concerned about this .... I have a few bantams and I worry...
thanks , but no. This is not moult related. As a few birds have puffy eyes and it is on the face where they don't have feathers............wish it was from moulting
sounds like your birds have been stressed..........it may be a while before they lay again. Stress does terrible things to chickens and humans alike. Good luck!
I have a several chickens that have developed a white "scale" ? on their faces, does not appear coming from their ears . At first I thought ammonia poisoning ? but the coop is cleaned out and then it developed days later. A few have puffy features . My coop does get sparrows flying in ( the darn...
