Hi everyone,
When I first bought my chickens, they were on Barastoc Darling Downs Layer Mix.
Then I moved the whole flock onto chick starter, then pullet grower as I was raising chicks.
Now the chicks are old enough to eat the Barastoc Darling Downs Layer Mix, so I have switched them all back...
Yes well I thought so too, but then I was told that hens also jump on other hen's backs for dominance reasons !
I still think he's a rooster.
He is also just as tall, if not taller than my adult hens.
Could you please tell me if this is a pullet or a rooster ?
People have come back and said pullet and rooster, so I decided he was a rooster and put him up for sale.
Now I have people responding to the ad saying that he's a pullet !
He is 15 weeks old.
Please help me !
Hmmm, thanks everyone !
I hope you're all right about the white one, I really like him / her !
I'll just have to wait for the crowing and fancy feathers to know for sure I guess :)
I have 5 chicks and they are 3 months old now ! So I guess ... not really chicks anymore !
Can anyone tell me as I'm still guessing (or maybe just hoping) that I don't have so many roosters haha.
Are they boys or girls ?!
I'm going to say these two are roosters. They both weigh 1.5kg / 3.3...

Hi everyone,
I have a 6 week old chick and I just noticed today that it's eye is a little saggy and there are a few small bubbles in it.
Is my chick sick ? It is acting and eating perfectly normal apart from it's eye.
Here is a photo:
Thanks !
The chicks are now 4 weeks old ! Can anyone pick out which ones are male or female ?
My guesses are:
Chick on the left - Male ?
Chick on the right - Female ?
Male ?
... Male ?
Female ?
Here they are exploring the world at one week old !!!!
They all seem to be happy and healthy except the full black one looks like it might have funny wings ... "Nemo" like if you know what I mean ?
Hi
So I have one chicken on medicated chick starter and was told not to eat the eggs for 14 days afterwards (other chickens have managed to get a hold of some too!)
I also have another chicken on antibiotics - amoxycillin / clavulanic acid + enrofloxacin and was told not to eat eggs for a...
Here are our first chicks They are Australorps and will be either black, white, blue or splash.
Three of them only hatched yesterday and two of them the day before, but I'm already seeing pin feathers in the wings !!!
Thought I'd let my first time broody hen rear them, but she seemed as if...
I'm not really sure how well she lays as Gloria is only 8 months old, so she hadn't been laying very long before she went broody.
But my Speckled Sussex would lay about 3 eggs a week on average.
My Golden Laced Wyandotte is my best layer. She lays an egg for me almost every day !
