I just found out that one of the girls at my sister's job took the duckling home. They think it's a wood duck. She said it must have belonged to someone because it will eat out of her hand and snuggles. I'm sure they will ask around to find out if anyone is missing it. But for now it is in...
Last weekend my game hen hatched two chicks. I went out yesterday to take away the remaining eggs. (I procrastinated cause she was still sitting on them and she is VERY protective.) I got there just in time to see a silkie egg hatching. Here is the family.
I heard some men talking in a store one day. They were taking their cows to the auction because they found that they were sick and wanted to get rid of them before it was too obvious. I'm sure this happens with birds as well. Please be careful at these auctions.
I was afraid to open this. I have seen fire ants do horrible things to live animals. I'm so glad the ants were just taking the food. Poor babies! I wouldn't like ant in my food either.

This has always been one of my favorites. I heard a man had puppies from an oops with his registered female that he didn't want. My husband said I could have ONE but I came home with all seven. Five found great homes, including this one.
Sounds like a fun day. Good luck finding them. We have had more snakes than I can ever remember here this year. It's so interesting to see all the different colors. Hope you all have fun.
I clipped mine but it didn't seem to help much. He is very large and clumsy which doesn't help. I would try the saddle idea from ddawn. I know I will be soon.
BTW, thanks ddawn!
I thought that just having one very long high roost would solve this problem. It didn't, now they (21 of them) all fight over the same spot in the center of the roost. I wish I knew what to tell you. Good luck with the rafters.
