well i don't really do much of anything but take care of the kids, homeschool and then there is the wife thing. oh and i oversee animal care around here. that's pretty much it. the older i get the less interesting i get. it wasn't so long ago that i had time for painting and writing but those...
i have my rabbits in with some of my younger chickens and my bigger chickens jump in and out of the pen all day. i've done this for months and personally haven't had any problems with it. the chickens and rabbits keep different schedules most of the time. everyone around here eats the same thing...
maybe you could have them talk to my pekins. they are almost 8 mos. and someone told me the other day that i wouldn't see eggs till spring!!! first eggs are so exciting.
i have one goose. it hangs out with my six ducks and plays cop. i was gonna eat it but my hubby said the ducks would miss it. my chickens run around with them but not exactly together, just near them. the goose is a great guard bird. i would do it. i'm hopefully getting a few more geese next...
that's great! i have a helpful(devil) goat. funny i have a screen problem too only its from my 2 yr old human pressing her head into them to see outside better.
i didn't candle my turkey eggs until end of week two. but that was my choice. i know you don't do it as soon as chicken eggs but i can't remember the exact day. might be around when i did it.
oh good you picked rabbits. join the homesteadingtoday.com forum and go to the raising rabbits for profits section. there are alot of knowledgeable people there that can help you out alot. they also have a list of stuff that rabbits can and can't eat. there has also been quite a bit of talk...
many people raise rabbits in a colony on the ground. do a google search. i do it. i ate two rabbits last week and they weren't worm ridden but it sounds like you won't be eating them. you can bury wire to keep them from digging out.
i had a rabbit that didn't pull hair until seconds before she had hers. mine never look prego and you can't tell very well by watching for movement cause there is always movement. i think your setup sounds fine. grouchy is a good sign too.
my vet had a positive cat and it lived to be about ten. they had to keep it inside as the outside life for one that is positive has a shorter life span. like all things it just depends on the cat. there is a stray male outside that has the thick neck, big head. i thought he looked funny. he's...
i've been doing the terramycin for a couple days now. it's the i don't know that else to do attempt. maybe that's why i didn't lose any today. though on the milk thing i was under the understanding that terramycin and milk are not friends as milk interferes with the drug working properly. yeah...
just want to thank everyone for their input. i haven't lost anymore since yesterday and i'm gonna try some different things. just want to get it figured out since i've got more eggs hatching soon.
i do it. my goats, rabbits and a few of my chickens share a pen and shelter. there have been some issues, from my reading in the past, with rabbits catching things from the chickens poo, but i haven't had any issues with that. i personally wouldn't house alot of chickens with them. but again...
i'd say it looks like chicken poo. nothing out of the ordinary. i'm so mad. i wish they had something visibly wrong cause then i could say oh well they are doing this, and then you guys would say, well stop that and give this, or something.
