I have had a very sick chicken for the last 3 days. She's so sick with diarrhea, I found a half eaten avocado pit in their outside area today, it wasn't one of ours, maybe one of our neighbors put it there. Is there a treatment????? I feel she doesn't have long left!!
My favorite one "Willow" passed away too. That's 4 now. I'm so devastated, I hand raised these little guys in my house. I don't want to loose anymore. :(
One just died in my hands... oh god this is awful. I'm in tears. Is there anything else I can do on top of the meds? The next one who looks really sick is my favorate. Shes just so loving i need her to live. :( :( :(
With the treatment you just treat them for a few days more then the preventive. No they weren't on the ground when I gave it to them I didn't know. :(
I'll bring the super sick ones inside and give it to them by syringe. Thank you.
I've had ttwo babies die yesterday very unexpectedly. They are between 3 and 2 months old. They are pooping red very were. I gave them a preventive about a month ago and yesterday I started another dose of medication. What else can I do?????? Please help me save my babies. :(
I hatched this little cutie yesterday and her legs were just fine, today they are upright and the knee joint is all red and swollen. What happened to her for this to happen? Is there anything I can do to help? I feel like she's in pain.
Hi, I just hatched a quail from my incubator and he's not really trying to get up to walk around yet, about 12 hours since he hatched, plus he wont make an attempt to eat. He doesn't have splayed legs or anything, but wont stand. Any advice?
I have 10 quails, 5 male 5 female. The boys keep trying to kill one another, they have plenty food, water and grass to wonder on, but I just keep getting blood. How many males should I have with 5 females?
Hey guys, just a update. Went to the vet, he said there was nothing he could do unless I did surgery. His tendons never formed properly and they are like that forever. He is doing well though. He's been upgraded out of his baby chair today and is now in his big boy chair after a nice bath. :)
Oh wow! I thought it would be as simple as taking him to the vet like you would a dog. I'm not going to hurt him, he's my baby, I might need to find another way to keep him here like build another coop, but I wanted to avoid that! Lol thanks for everyone's help!
Hi everyone, I hatched this little chubby cutie a few days ago, I got him from a farm that breeds barnevelders. I've never seen a white one before, is it normal to get white ones? I understand she had blue ones but she wasn't sure what hen laid this egg, do blue barnevelders have white in them...
Just curious. I have a rooster whom I love, but I can't keep him in with my other rooster and the only other coop I have has rescue/retired hens who can not mate. Is there a possibility to get it done by a vet? Has anyone heard it before?
