LOL - I should try the store eggs, see if it's true! LOL I have a Trader Joe's about 20 min from here. I wonder if the local Grocery store's "Organic" eggs would work? Maybe an experiment! LOL
I guess I have myself a broody girl ... but unfortunately no fertile eggs for her to set She's not happy when I have to keep moving her to get the eggs she "THINKS" she should be setting on. Christmas babies would be so neat though!
I'd LOVE to give her a couple FERTILE eggs ... but no one around me I know of has a rooster, so no good eggs for setting on
Anyone know anyone near Clinton Twp, MI with small breed chickens who'd lend me a couple eggs! LOL
Very cute pics ...
No rooster means no cute fuzzies ... so no use in letting her set on eggs I do collect throughout the day so I prod her to get up and let me check. That's usually when she gets up and eats/drinks, stretches her legs So I'll just leave her be.
I believe one of my girls is broody ... at least I THINK that's the case. About a week or so ago she started sitting on any egg laid in the box, didn't matter if it was hers or not. And she was ALWAYS in the box. She wouldn't want to leave for the other girls to get in and lay so I put in a...
I use to take my laundry out of the dryer and throw it in a basket and take it upstairs to fold ... but most time it would sit in that basket on the couch for DAYS, sometimes WEEKS, until someone got around to folding it. A lot of times we'd just pull out things we needed as we needed them...
We got them before Couldn't figure out WHERE all the darn things were coming from but were finding them A LOT in the bathroom. Checked the screens in the window but no holes. Then DH did some research on the net and figured that it must be drain flies. We got some Drain-O ... problem...
Nice! I'm like you, I try to use what I have around the house ... my 3 bantams are kept in the basement in an old baby play yard I put a couple of those vinyl table cloths under the play pen to cover the floor, then I have cardboard over the table cloths and up the sides of the gate about...
I think I read somewhere on here that someone used canned cat food as a chicken treat before ... well, tonight I gave it a go after feeding our cats. Had a little bit left in the can and thought I'd see what the girls would think of it. HOLY CRAP!!! They LOVED it! They literally were pushing...
Watched one of the girls on the cam lay her egg today then went to collect it. After taking it to the kitchen to put in the fridge I noticed an abnormality ... there seemed to be a little lump on it. Well, upon closer inspection it wasn't a lump but more of a bubble. However, the shell itself...
With our geriatric dogs that started peeing everywhere ... we went with the doggie diapers. Was easiest on everyone. They have diapers FOR dogs but we just made our own out of kids diapers (much cheaper).
As for litter box training pups ... I just LOVE it! Makes it SOOOOOO much nicer then...
WOW! I never knew coyotes came in such a wealth of colors before. Never seen any except in the traditional sable type coloring. Very neat and good info to know.
