Hi Marcy, I know this is an old post but did you ever figure out what was happening with BigBev? My hen, Hazel, has the same discoloration. I noticed today when I was washing her bottom. The discoloration was just above and then below her vent.
Hello! I know this thread is a bit old but did you ever figure out why there were black pebbles in your chicken's stool? This morning while cleaning up chicken poop in the run, I ran across the same thing! This was a shaped poop with what looked like black pebbles sprinkled on top. It was warm...
Yes, you are right but there are two classifications, if you will, of Seramas now. Malaysian Seramas and American Seramas. The Malaysian ones are very extreme in their look, as you describe. The American ones tend to have softer lines. Actually, I just googled to find and example and found a...
I know a lot of Serama people in the PNW. Where did you buy her? She looks like a female Serama to me. :) I have quite a few and have hatched and raised them. How long have you had her. Mine will put their tail down like that when they are sad or stressed. I was thinking if you just got her...
Thank you!! She is one awesome chicken. We do have another little EE that is skiddish too! We call her Little Beans.

Out of the 28 eggs I started with, I have 16 eggs growing at the end of day 13! It was pretty dry and warmer that it has been, today so I had a little bit of a humidity issue but with a few tweaks, all is well!
How is everyone else doing? Waiting patiently?
They are so cute. I love their little puff cheeks and beards. We have one with a pretty funny attitude. She went from a spunky little stinker that you had to keep your eye on to a hugger! She started laying eggs at around 1 year. (She was a late bloomer.) When her egg laying hormones kicked in...
Thank you for sharing up dated pictures of Lucky's babies! They all are so cute! I love the Turken girls! Can't wait to see them all grown up! That photo of Lucky is so beautiful! He is such a handsome fella!
