Ok, well today I noticed one if my hens started sitting(or in the broody I think). A while ago I read somewhere that hens don't usually sit around winter because most of he chicks wont survive the cold. Should I let her keep the eggs or take them away... ?
Where I live those Sandhill cranes are every where and I have a turkey. A lil while ago 4 of the cranes were in a neighbors yard and they started making those sounds and that was stirring my turkey up. So my turkey was gobbling and making other sounds and the cranes were too :D --->

I am addicted to being around animals!! I love them But I have never actually used an incubator... if the hen starts sitting on them then I will le her and keep watch But if they stop laying and I'm pretty sure they have already started developing then I do have this lamp and I make up a lil...
There are those Sandhill cranes (I think that's what they are called) around here and a little while ago my turkey was gobbling and making other sounds at the cranes and they cranes were making sounds back! It went on for a while and I just thought it was a kinda weird and needed to be shared

Well we decided to let him go about a month ago, but on the way back to our house he followed us... We even left food for him where we let him go but he didnt eat any of it, he just turned and followed.

Last year me and my friend went down the st. in the woods(which is only a little patch of trees w/ a canal) and caught a wild turkey... W. our bare hands and chased it down! :cd We had just finished a new, big chicken enclosure but that's where the turkey is... Any way we have taken very good...
Around my house there are always hawks and vultures flying around, they have never gotten any of my chickens thankfully... But they do seem interested in them.
