Buff Orpington rooster crossed with a black australorp hen will create a sex link. This is my first experiment. I will have to wait until they begin to feather out to see if they are male or female but at least that will be within a couple of weeks. The golds will be females the males will be...

I had a little issue getting them to eat the corn, so i had to soak and grind it! Then added some home rendered lard. That should work.

We have four females and will keep two drakes.

Lazy gardener,

Some are even molting.
I have given them a break for over a month and now am adding light. I don't remember how long it takes to get them going again. Anyone know?
So, i have a coop with an electric poultry fence around it. Its getting hot at night and they dont all seem to want to go in. Do you lock up your chicken at night if they are protected by an electric fence? Or do you let them roost on top or outside?
We do have predators, but we also have a dog...
So, the quail is totally normal besides this swelling. No discharge, eating and drinking as before. Maybe breathing through their mouths a bit.
We have them separated and no other signs of outbreak in the remaining quail. How long would we need to wait to see if the others will be sick...
None of my neighbors raise birds.
I do have chickens, but they are separate.
Coryza is basically a cold....
