We had half a dozen bantam eggs in the incubator. 3 hatched and 1 survived. Then we had 7 that were due to hatch 4 days ago. Again, 3 hatched and 1 survived. This time I decided to investigate. What I found was that the little guys had pipped through their membranes, but they couldn't pip...
I bought 2 dozen eggs to hatch. This one hatched first from a light brown egg. Any idea what breed? Has dark brown stripes down the back, eyeliner, single comb, pinkish legs.
Checked on the eggs before my nap. Slept 2 hours. Decided to check for pips and there was a chick! Fully dried! I just started lock down last night! I'm ecstatic!
This is my first incubation. We're on day 4 in a little giant Styrofoam incubator with a fan. Turning by hand. I turned the eggs this morning before I left for church. When I got back the temp was on 93. I discovered I did not have the lid all the way on. The lowest reading was 93 with 45%...
I have a black jersey giant, 2 silver laced wyandottes, a Columbian wyandotte, a welsummer, and a Cornish. I don't have a way to separate every breed. I can successfully keep 2 roos. Which 2 breeds are in higher demand? I do want to hatch some purebreds. Any of these easier to sex? Thx!

Their names, breeds, and sexes: ahem

Jagger, Jersey Giant Roo
Sissy, Jersey Giant pullet
Sassy, RIR pullet that thinks she's a duck
Jolene, RIR pullet who is always in or on the coop
Henry, Welsummer roo...
I would wait a couple weeks, or gradually introduce them when you can supervise, and then separate when you can't. I have 6 wks and 4 wks. I started introducing them last week. Started by putting cage in coop. Then I turned out the older ones out of the coop, and let the babies have run of the...
