Y'all have to see this. I got a video of my fiance getting Gretel all upset. This was taken as she made her nightly trek up the lane and into the woods to roost. I think it's hilarious... hilarious that he can speak chicken and hilarious that Gretel gives it right back to him.
Aww - that sound is actually a "warning call of danger" when my hens do it.
He would make her happier with a low cluck cluck or rolling brrrrt sound.
Good luck with Gretel
That is what I'm hoping. My fiance said he heard her in the woods. It's raining right now or I'd go out there. But if she has gone broody I'm not sure if anything will come of it. I have seen my BR cockerel mounting her. He is only about 16 weeks I would guess. I hope she doesn't stay gone long. I miss her.
She's back! I was petting my babies and looked up and there she was. Drenched! It looked like she had some feathers missing but we'll see how she looks once she dries out. Haha
Oh! Big AL tried to get some loving but she wasn't having it. Put him in his place with a quickness.
Should I put something in the water in case she did get into it with something? I have ACV?
Edited to ask: Is there a way to tranq a chicken safely? Sounds funny but when I try to catch her she FREAKS! I'm wondering if a fish net would work.
