Two Broody Hens - 2 failed hatches

How would you suggest keeping them seperate through this ? And for trying the fostering, normally you'd try to sneak them under in the middle of the night right ?

Two Broody Hens - 2 failed hatches

...they both are back in the coop after I fully cleaned it out and are fighting over the spot they've sat for the past 2 months. I'm fine with them tryna be mommas, but one of them or both of them *since they keep wrestling eggs back and forth* keep ruining the hatch. What would you suggest I do ?

    Ameraucana roo over Legbar hen

Thanks for the response ! Our first hatch had some chicks with the spot on the head. I'll be confirming those are roosters from the families that got them before I feel confident enough to ensure hens vs roos. But it was pretty clear dot vs no dot

    Ameraucana roo over Legbar hen

New small time breeder here, I hatch out pure ameraucanas, Easter eggers & olive eggers. I have one cream legbar hen I acquired and aside from knowing her chicks will lay blue, I've found conflicting information in regards to if her chicks would be autosexing ? Any guidance and explanation on...

Yes I have some cuckoo & some just straight lavenders 🥰 they are gorgeous & definitely were on my bucket list so I hatched them ! Thanks for the insight, the tail feathers have me confused, especially the 2nd when I compare to my other clear roosters.

SOS- lavender orpington sexing at 11 weeks

hey all, I have 11 lavender orpingtons that are now 11 weeks old. I was fairly certain that 4 of them were hens and the rest roosters by comparing against each other and these 4 had (and have) pretty significantly smaller combs & wattles (lighter in color too) compared to some of my "obvious"...

Month old chick with dislocated leg

hey all! I had no luck with my Facebook group unfortunately, I usually have better luck here. I have a month old chick with a dislocated leg. I noticed something when she hatched (no it wasn't spray leg) and tried monitoring as best as I could and she seemed to do better after a couple days so...

    Possible BCM vrossed cochin?

Here are a few pictures of our girl in question from most recent back to her first p in at a few days old. She carries some copper in her feathers but does seem to have more feathers on her feet with the marans I have compared her to. In the pen, there are sets of cochin & marans that I got...

    Ameraucana sexing help

Here are a few that were in the same, mostly barnyard beautiful mutts. I did have 3 olive colored eggs in this bunch, one dark like a maran, then standard colored brown eggs. I have my 3 olive eggers pegged though already as I saw them hatch. They will be the first 3 in the pics (green eggs)...

    Ameraucana sexing help

Here's some more pics of the maran, just curious if you still lean more towards maran or cochin ? I emailed who I got the eggs from and she actually has both in that pen along with some barnyard mixes. So 100% I'm labeling her as a mutt but just curious what your thoughts are now looking at her...

    Plucking Feathers

Just a day later and we will be culling. Moved them all out to the coop and in the morning saw him attacking the one he got the worst again and she was bleeding. I brought the girl inside to fully heal and he is back in isolation. Oh well we tried.
