    Hawk Attack - Please Help

Today I caught a red tail under the coop with my girls. It tried to fly away with one of my oegb mixes but I intercepted. It had her by the leg. At first I didn't think she was going to make it at all because she just kept falling on her side and wouldn't move, but I think she was in shock. The...

    Found Pigeon

No one has responded to my craigslist and facebook ads for a found pigeon so I guess she's mine now. How do you sex pigeons? My hens don't like her. She lost a couple of feathers and now she's got her own part of the yard and her own mini-coop (aka rabbit hutch). She seems pretty content...

    New "Chicken"

The neighbor found a stray "chicken" for me. I've got four bantams in my tiny flock. Do you think it's possible to integrate this one random pigeon?

    Found Pigeon

My neighbor knocked on my door this afternoon and told me that he had one of my chickens in his yard. I checked the coop while my husband went to fetch the hen, and low and behold all four of my girls were there and hubs came back with this: Definitely not one of my "chickens." Right now...

    Egg Thief

Goodness gracious! I know my eggs are delicious, but come on already! I've noticed lately that my cochin hasn't been laying like normal. Typically she lays every other day. Now I'm lucky to get one a week. Then I noticed egg shells under the big oak tree (on the other side of the six foot...

    Molting or...?

I was thinking the same thing. Today I grabbed her up and inspected the area where she is missing feathers and there are a few new feathers popping up. I haven't seen any squabbles and I've been really listening... She's also stopped laying. :/

    Molting or...?

This is my girl Gerta. She's about a year and a half now (my kindergarten class hatched her from an egg). She's just started losing feathers around the back of her head. I have four chickens, another hen the same age as her that she was raised with and then two 16 week old girls. Is she...

    Chickie Grab Bag

I hatched a batch of eggs from someone who has all sorts of chickens. There were a few olive eggs, a green egg, and a brown egg. They are four and a half weeks old. What type and what gender do you think I have?

    American serama thread!

Sooooo I need to know where the eggs came from and how big they are!? :) I bought them from ebay from a person who had seramas and other bantams together. I really don't know anything about them, I've just never had babies that were THIS tiny. I can't weigh them because I don't have a scale...

That's a pretty bird... I guess Daff and I will just have to wait a little while longer to see what he turns out to be. Unfortunately I can't have roosters in my county. :(

    Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's been losing feathers like mad lately. The backyard is full of black feathers from him. I noticed the pointy crest feathers, too, but it's been raining a lot here this week and he keeps getting his head wet, so I'm not sure if they're pointy or just waterlogged.
