Unfortunately with the way real estate is going in TX, many of us are trapped in our suburban HOAs. I’m in the same boat just laying low. Drakes are so quiet, I think you can probably just fly under the radar. So far we’ve been lucky going on 2 yrs here despite the egg song!
My EEs from Meyer are my flightiest chickens, to the point that it’s ridiculous. We just roll our eyes while they almost kill themselves panicking because we sort of walk in their direction. My last EE from Ideal was much more calm (friendly enough, but not cuddley-friendly). On the other hand...
Well, I only dabbled in archery instructing Girl Scouts at summer camp way back, but my mom travels around the world competing in archery competitions and was FL archer of the year once. She shoots recurve. Unfortunately, she has not discovered the wonder of chickenkeeping, so not on BYC. I hope...
I for one have a much more complete "shelter in place" kit to cope with loss of power/heat/gas/water for an extended period of time. I hardly have room to store it in my average suburban home and can't imagine how anyone living in the city could possibly prepare for an event like we saw last...
I think it's supposed to be like you are physically holding two oranges as opposed to the expected answer of one after 3 minus 2. I dunno.. i don't write the riddles, people. I just deliver them poorly.
Maybe it would've worked better if i asked "how many oranges do you have?" After you took 2 away. Whoops.
Trying again: One cow has 3 of these and one girl has 4. What is it?
My EE Blondie just passed 42 weeks and is still not laying. She's been squatting since Fall and sometimes checks out the nest boxes, but she's just a big, fat, faker. I hope your bantams start earning their keep soon!
Thanks for responding! I finally opened it up and as expected, it was just a ball of egg white. Hard to get through the membrane though. I guess it was probably from the established green layer but still keeping my eye on the other EE and hoping! I can't imagine how small bantam fart eggs must...
Haha yeah it always takes people by surprise. My out-of-state cousins growning up thought we lived on flat sand everywhere. Ummm part of the Rockies pass through it! Now I'm in TX and missing the mountains and snow.
There was another cool central town I really liked more than those^ but can't think of it now. Does anyone know if it may have been Heber? Anyone familiar with that one?
Yep, as nuthatched mentioned, I also gave my top central picks already. People generally mean "high desert/pines" rather than strict geographic regions when they say northern AZ. Unless local.
Cottonwood area might be cool if you like visiting old mining towns like Jerome. I also used to love...
