I for one have a much more complete "shelter in place" kit to cope with loss of power/heat/gas/water for an extended period of time. I hardly have room to store it in my average suburban home and can't imagine how anyone living in the city could possibly prepare for an event like we saw last year. It's unlikely we'll see it again (lasting that long, anyway) for some time, but nothing was fixed, so you can't chance it. How is it that today in America we have people freezing to death in their beds because of one week of sub-freezing temps? Then we don't even learn from it?
Ok, off my soapbox, I think it will definitely snow this week but hopefully it's 2 days max before we thaw out! The cold has already affected all my solar/battery setups in the coop (door/cameras).
