thanks for the reply. i think it was a loose connection my dad started fiddling with the wires and taping on the yellow box and it turned back on. im going to leave it on for a few days and see what happens. good thing i just bought a 3rd incubator 2 days ago as i have 120 quail and 29 chicken...- AZ Birds

i just discovered today when i was going to put some quail eggs in the incubator that my hovabator stopped heating. i checked to see if it was the wafer thermostat by changing it out with another hovabator incubators thermostat that i know works but still no heat. indicator light is also...- AZ Birds

water dishes
i have successfully switched all my chickens and quail to rabbit water bottle this week and will never go back to the regular chicken waterers again. definitely a time saver as there is no need to clean them for a long time. -

i have 3ftx9ft hutch that i made with a wooden divider and one side houses my quail and the other side houses my new zealand doe and they been like that for months with no problem my doe just had her babies in there 2 weeks ago too. -

yeah i usually just put them in the egg turner on counter and let the turner do the turning. but will now instead put the turner in the incubator with a cup of ice. just sold 70 quail chicks today so thinking about getting a 3rd incubator this week. -

im on my 4th round of hatching quail and still get excited and run around and tell everybody about it lol. they just look at me weird all the time. guess they just dont understand the hatching experience. i have few quail in the process of hatching right now with one already out of the egg. -

i use to do the same it worked great in the winter but soon as summer came the AZ weather evaborated the water very quickly. -

wow 6-9 months that crazy guess you learn something new everyday. i love BYC makes me sound alot smarter to all my friends who have been raising birds for years . why do grocery stores refrigerate them though if most of the eggs are sold pretty quickly? -

Rough estimate
i hatch and sell quail eggs in my area and get $3 a chick and $2.50 a dozen for eating eggs. i have a lady that comes and buys the eating eggs from me and takes them to a farmers market to sell. i dont know how much she makes but i would have to believe she is making at least $5 a dozen to make... -
