My Texas son is a sailor stationed in Norfolk and he misses our backyard eggs! I was hoping to find someone that is not to far from the base he could get eggs from. He tells his buddies all the time that store bought eggs are not good there is difference and I sure would like to find him some...
I have been out of town and came home to find my newest babies have something on their beaks and one has it on its eye!! What is it and what do I do? Only the little black ones have this.
Let Me say this about me, I am a real person with real understanding of "things happen" and I a very easy going person. I NEVER expected a 100% hatch rate that is silly for anyone to expect that even with your own eggs. Things happen. Knowing all the possible issues with mailing eggs if just...
well I will NEVER buy from this person again or from eBay. I'm not completely without knowledge on hatching eggs but I do know eBay and I'm sorry but something isn't right when you can't leave feedback or get a reply to emails. Buyer beware. If all that is the case then to sale eggs and ship...
Your right I have been a member ofeBay since 2000 and I am a ware of all if that. That is why I said something wasn't correct!! I got them the last half of July I will have to look back on the date but I should still be able to leave feed back but I can not. I have not gotten a reply yet from...
If you buy eggs from Ebay beware. I have NEVER done this before but in my desperate desire to have a couple of Frizzle chickens I ordered some off of Ebay. This persons reviews were 100 percent positive so I took a chance.
I put half the eggs in my incubator and the other half under a hen...
yes the brooder was ready and 100 under the light. They are doing very well... drying out and are very loud. My son said they have imprinted on me because when I go over there and put my hand in there they will climb up in my hand lay down, get quite and sleep. LOL
Thanks, they have been in there for about 2 hours and I felt like it would be ok but wanted to check.... better than trying to drink anything inside that incubator.
All eggs have hatched but a couple of the chicks are still wet but I want to take them out and put them in the brooder. The incubator is so yucky now and they are trying to drink the condensation\. Is It ok to take them out now..... I mean they don't need the humidity any more right??
Ok so my Buff Laced Polish eggs hatched!! Here is a my Question.... there are two roosters in this pen....(remember I was just doing a test run to see how the machine would work)... I have a buff silkie and a blue Partridge brahma..... I know that is a big bird, long story why he is in there...
Yes they seem to be doing just fine. I can't wait to see the polish hatch. I had to do a quick slip. One of the shells cuped over another egg that had pipped and I didn't want to risk losing the one it was covering up so I just slipped it out really quick. I think it will be ok.
These were just my test run for this machine. Some of mine from my girls.... a couple of BCM and my Polish/silkie so I am excited this machine has worked so well. Very happy so far.
They are in my Brinsea mini so I don't know what the humidity level is but there is a lot of condensation. So I know it is up there pretty good and the water level is full so they have a lot of good humidity to come right on out. May make drying hard but they have really gotten active once the...
Well I now have 2. Lol so when ever they dry off I guess I will move them. I have the others starting to zip I think. If I could just remove the shells that would give them more room. Scared to open it.
I have one early hatcher and expect the rest to be about 12 hours behind this one. She is crawling over them and rolling them around a bit...... is this an issue? She just hatched about an hour ago. I am a what happens in nature kind of person so I am thinking this happens when under a broody...
Thank y'all this is great info. I do sew but I need them now and I just don't want to mess with it. Lol so it will be worth the money. I'm buying some tonight!
That is the site I was looking at because they are made in the USA. So it is mostly my RIR that need it I was thinking the med. ones will this e work or should I get the large ones.
I was hoping their feather would grow back but are you saying it hasn't helped with that? Have they molted yet...
Wow a lot of extra work for that machine to work. I broke down and bought a brinsea mini incubator to use until I get it all down and can decide what to use. Thought this would help. Lol
You know this is really good info about what all you are dealing with using this machine. A great ongoing review. That you so much for sharing it. I keep going back and forth on to build or to buy one. I get started building and then I stop because I'm so unsure about certain things so then...
