Help please. My 2 week old EE seems to be choking. she keeps opening her mouth like she is going to crow, but no sounds come out. I looked in her mouth and saw a bunch of food, so I sucked it out with a dropper. She doesnt seem to be changing or chirping.
HELP!@@@
no help on the molting (I am still new to chickens and mine haven't molted yet)... but I do know that Araucana's lay only blue eggs, so if you are getting olive, then it has to be a mixed breed (most likely an easter egger)

I dont know quiet roosters but I have had 3 VERY LOUD all day crowers. Stay away from : New Hampshire Reds, Easter Eggers, or Black Astralorps.
I would say, for peace of mind, stick with just the hens.
Available in Bakersfield California only. I will deliver.
He is so handsome and gentle. He is sweet with the ladies and comes to his name - Andy. My neighbors have complained about him crowing, and unfortunately he has to go. We got him a week ago from a friend who couldn't keep him.
It is definitely not cold here. Only gets to about 45 deg F at night. Doesn't look like blood, I tried massaging it and it appeared to go away for a bit. It is also predominant on one side of the comb.
It is not there always, kind of like it comes and goes.
My rooster Andy is 1.5 years old Black Astralorp. The last couple of days I have noticed that the last 2 points on his comb are kinda bluish purple.
Anyone know what might be wrong?
He is eating, drinking as normal. Still crowing, running/walking around like normal. All seems normal except...
I had one that loved the time between 11pm and 4 am to crow at least once per hour. He ended up being overly agressive with the hens and then attacked my daughter even after rehabilitation efforts.
Maybe he just has too much rooster testosterone? Mine ended up in the crock pot for his bad...
Some information that I didnt include in my first post:
NHR and EE were both bought as day old chicks. They are handled each day of their lives. My girls are also every day included in chicken chores, so the roosters see them from day one. My children are never alone with the chickens. My...
So far I am 2 for 2 in the aggressive bad roo department. The first was a NHR. He had to go @25 weeks because he continued to attack my youngest daughter and scratched up her belly. Rehabilitation was tried, with no success, so we traded him for a laying hen (he ended up in our friend's soup...
We had a very unruly/mean rooster. He was so handsome, but could not be rehabilitated from attacking my daughters. We processed him on Monday night using directions I found on this board - THANK YOU!
The only thing I noticed was how hard it seemed to skin him and how long the body twitched...
about the "rumor" regarding cholesterol - an egg is an egg. They all have cholesterol. The color of the shell is determined by the breed, but it does not change the levels of cholesterol in the egg. The size of the egg determines the amount of cholesterol in the egg.

I have 3 - 18 week old EE's. 1 roo and 2 pullets. The rooster just started crowing last week and this week is practicing his mating on the two other EE's. I also have 6 other pullets that are 24 weeks. 2 are laying, 3 are point of lay, and 1 I have no idea is she is anywhere near ready...
I have 5 23 week old pullets that are not laying yet. One of them has the bright red big wattles and comb (new hampshire red), she also looks like her but is getting wider..hehe. The 2 barred rocks are getting bigger wattles, but not yet red. The remaining 2 RIR def. still need to mature.
