I have 5 23 week old pullets that are not laying yet. One of them has the bright red big wattles and comb (new hampshire red), she also looks like her but is getting wider..hehe. The 2 barred rocks are getting bigger wattles, but not yet red. The remaining 2 RIR def. still need to mature.

My question is, will they produce any eggs this winter, or will the shortened days cause them not to lay their first eggs until spring? The NHR really seems like she should be laying any time now.
