    Canker? What to treat with?

I do not have the bodies anymore. It was over a week ago. If more die, I will try that. If it was wet pox, it would have killed them quickly??? I had tried treatment for months and they just slowly lost, kept opening their mouth and stretching out their neck as if they were not getting enough...

    Question about Canker ... Again

I have tried metronidazole, rodinazole, acidified copper sulfate, garlic, vinegar and a few more "canker medications" I found on pigeon and hawk websites. Nothing worked. I have lost 7 hens so far after months of treatment. So I heard Berimax was the best but could not find it. Reached out to an...

    Can't get rid of canker

So I have had chickens for over 10 years and never had a problem with canker. Didn't even hear of it...until recently. By the time I figured out what it was, 4 hens had it. I started treating with Rodinazole but 2 died. The other 2 are better but one of them still has stuff in her mouth...

    Baby chick with swollen belly

My chick is now over a month old and seems fine. Still has a lump but has gotten smaller. I think if yours had mushy chick syndrome it would be acting sick but I don't have much experience

    Baby chick with swollen belly

I checked it last night. The swelling seems to be more to the right side of the belly. Still eating and drinking and running around just fine with its funny walk. I will wait and see how it progresses. Thank you so much for your input

    Baby chick with swollen belly

I thought that might be it but there were no issues with an infection on the umbilical cord site, no signs of infection anywhere. If that is the case though, can or should antibiotics be given to such a young chick? Should I just let it run it's course? I have been giving the chick vitamin...

    Baby chick with swollen belly

Sorry I do not have any photos at the moment. I can try later but don't know if it will hold still long enough for me to take photos. The swelling is down between the legs which is why it is walking like a duck I imagine. I did not see any inflammation around the vent when I checked it to...

    Baby chick with swollen belly

I had a chick hatch. Looked healthy and normal until a few days after the hatch I noticed it walked funny. Kind of like a duck. I picked it up and noticed the belly was swollen. No pasty butt, no diarrhea. Eating and drinking and acting normal otherwise. I thought maybe it had not absorbed...

    Worm in poop during deworming

I have seen roundworms on my chickens poop. I have the safeguard paste. How much do I put in a gal of water? I have 70 chickens. I cannot give orally to each one individually.

    Battling coccidia

They are about 1 month old. Would it be too late to start adding leaf or grass to their bedding? I have had the issue with those I hatched and those I ordered on line

    Battling coccidia

They are currently in a small coop that I built inside my living room. I wash my hands before and after handling them. I guess I am paranoid at this point. I will monitor them closely and wait until they are moved to the coop outside. Thank you!
