What did you do with your flock today?

Handsome guy! I bought them last month from a lady who raised them. Not sure where the chicks are from. The lady who referred me to her got pullets from her, same batch, as well as her friend. HA HA, my cats are named Laverne and Shirley. Sisters.

What did you do with your flock today?

They are now 5.5 months. You could be right. I've also read that they don't start laying until 26-28 weeks. Time will tell. His crow isn't normal and obnoxious, yet. Their feathers are sure pretty. At this point, he hasn't tried to attack me, so MAYBE he'll get to stay. If not, I know someone...

What did you do with your flock today?

Well, I was in the kitchen yesterday and heard a funny sound outside. It was one if the Mystic Marans trying to crow! Upon closer inspection, I now see that I have bought 2 cockerels! I am trying to get this rectified by the seller, but have no answer back. I did ask for pullets, and she said...

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

It's a southern thing. We love them, and pick a couple early in the season just for those. Now I'll make green tomato relish with the rest of the crop I picked. Finished picking the shelling beans, some of the vines I hung under shelter to finish drying out. I think I may leave the cylindra...

What did you do with your flock today?

This one is not my photo, as my pullets are only 15 weeks old, so still looks like a leghorn with black feathers sprinkled in.

What did you do with your flock today?

I guess so. The lady that raises them said that their facial color change gradually.

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Just stepped on an uneven surface, my foot probably bent funny and the ligament pulled off a small piece of bone on the 5th metatarsal. Pain was almost like giving birth. All good, just about. Now I have an upper respiratory infection, aka bad cold, so have had to cancel my appointments this week.

What did you do with your flock today?

They are cross of an Ayam cemani roo and a White Leghorn hen. This is an adult. My girls faces still look like leghorn, and have the black feathers sprinkled in.

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Well, we have 56°, had a deluge of hail and rain this afternoon. I'm afraid to check my dahlias. Thunder continues to rumble every now and then. The new girls have now been unsequestered, and have become a flock of 6. They were a bit timid when I let them out last evening, but were roaming the...

    Whatcha Making for Supper?

Today DH went crabbing and brought home Dungeness crab, I made some baguettes, and we have leftover lasagne to heat and eat. After spending the day on my feet in the kitchen squeezing cooked grapes for wine, etc. It's good to have leftovers.
