I put a couple in beef stew, then remove them before serving. After they boil, you'll smell 'em! I know some use them in chili and other soups too.
Oh, you meant for chickens? :) #3. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/top-50-herbs-for-your-chickens.77443/
1/2" hardware cloth is what's recommended to keep poultry safe. If those coyotes, or any other nearby varmint gets hungry and smells chickens, they'll be stopping by.
If you're not sure how secure your coop/run is, you can post pictures in this forum and folks will help you...
I went to your other thread to see how this started.
Is she laying eggs or none since?
Does that stink worse than the usual chicken poop?
That's looking like it could be vent gleet to me, so I think I'd go with some probiotics for a few days to see if that takes care of it. After dewormers...
Two to three week old chicks can be okay as long as there's a few of them, they are getting close to fully feathered, and have a shelter to cuddle up in. I can't do that so soon with silkies at that temp unless I put a Cozy Coop radiant heater in their hutch.

The B2 should help. It could take a week or two though.
The dosage is fine. I already tried the poking them and putting in scrambled eggs and they wouldn't eat it. I took a whiff and I wouldn't either.
One way: Hold her in your left hand like a football. Have the pill in your right hand. With your left hand, gently pull down her wattles, and...
I hadn't seen the video, and honestly, it's not showing too much, but I think by your description, there is either a torn ligament, tendon, or a dislocated joint, and it needs binding. Binding is usually what's done for splayed legs, but even if there's just one leg jutting out, binding the...
Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow
It looks so pretty there. Beautiful chickens!
It also looks like you could have predators there. Do you have any issues thus far? If their coop is secure at night, that's the majority of it as most stuff happens at night.
