    Something Wrong w/Hen’s Eye

Update: She’s doing just fine. Her eye is back to normal and nobody else appears to be affected.

    Something Wrong w/Hen’s Eye

So, I should make my own solution and not use the Vetericyn?

    Something Wrong w/Hen’s Eye

I know the saline solution is really simple, but I have a bottle of Vetericyn Plus eye wash and am wondering if that would do the trick?

    Something Wrong w/Hen’s Eye

That sounds really easy to do (and it’s super useful to know.) Thank you!

    Something Wrong w/Hen’s Eye

Her comb does flop over her eye, however, it’s normally pretty clean. I’ll make sure to keep an eye out though

    Something Wrong w/Hen’s Eye

I gave him Tylan 50 injectable. I didn’t know it could be given orally... I would have much rather done that. I also gave him VetRX.

    Something Wrong w/Hen’s Eye

She wasn’t pecked (she’s been on her own for a bit because she had a foot injury that’s been troublesome to heal up), she could have been stung (it’s the middle of summer in Texas... there’s a LOT of bugs), and I’m pretty sure it’s not fowl pox. I hope it’s not a respiratory infection, but it’s...

    Something Wrong w/Hen’s Eye

Hello, Today I noticed a small, pinkish lump on one of my hens’ eyes. It’s only on her right eye and none of my other birds have it. There’s no bubbling coming from the eye, nor is there any gunk coming from it. I haven’t noticed any unusual behavior from her and it’s definitely not a result of...

    Intestinal parasites???

Should I stop eating their eggs after dosing them? If so, for how long? Also, are there cheaper alternatives? If not, I can make do, but preferably...

    Intestinal parasites???

Hi everyone, So, today I was cleaning the coops and after I finished, I noticed one of my hens’ poops looked like this: The thing is, she has been separated for a while now due to other reasons and I’m almost 100% sure no parasites were in her poo earlier today. Does anyone know what these...

    Bumblefoot Issues

Yup. I’ve become a master at wrapping their feet haha. I guess it may not be completely healed when I think it is, so I’ll have to keep them wrapped longer

    Bumblefoot Issues

I’ll look into those. I don’t have pics of the bumblefoot, but I do have pics of the coop/run:(It may not seem like there’s enough ventilation from this pic, but there is, also, sorry the walls are dirty, oops) Their run isn’t very large, but we can’t let them free roam, and by city ordinances...

    Bumblefoot Issues

I don’t think so, because when we redid the coop, we lowered the bars, made sure the entrance/exit was low enough, and there’s plenty of hay in there to soften their landing

    Bumblefoot Issues

The only thing I can think of is that there might be some sharp rocks or maybe when sticks get in their run

    Bumblefoot Issues

Hello, So, I’ve had my chickens for just over a year and we’ve almost always had a bumblefoot issue. I’ve posted about it before and ended up scrapping the old coop and making a new one. The new one is bigger and has a solid floor (the main difference). This new one has been around for a few...
