Hello,
So, I’ve had my chickens for just over a year and we’ve almost always had a bumblefoot issue. I’ve posted about it before and ended up scrapping the old coop and making a new one. The new one is bigger and has a solid floor (the main difference). This new one has been around for a few months now, but my babies keep getting bumble. I live in Texas and the dirt is normally pretty hard, so that could be a part of the problem. We periodically put soft dirt in there though and mix it around. Something else that has occurred to me is that maybe I’m not getting all of the infection out of the wound when I think I’m done dealing with it for each chicken. Has anyone else experienced this issue of at least one of the birds having bumblefoot? What can I do about this because it is REALLY annoying!
