    Chickens eating eggs

I always give my chickens one or two eggs a day. I have never had an issue with them eating them before I can get to them. I guess bc they know I'll share. My chickens loooove eggs. But they always wait for me to give to them. It's like a treat to them. I guess it's an unspoken mutual agreement...

    Do these eggs need washing?

I wouldnt use water. Just a dry rag and wipe the loose stuff off. Washing them can cause them to go bad faster as you will wash away any natural defense the shell has. Just my opinion.

Just got a muscovy duck about 6 to 9 mouths old. She hasn't laid any eggs.

That being said, yes they just need some time to settle. Muscovy is a very gentle breed. And by gentle I mean....imo they need love. It's almost like they know exactly what's going on, who they like, who they dont like. They are children. Once they have adjusted and say "hey, this is our home...

    Online order: Hoovers hatchery chicks

Yes, my favorite hatchery as well. This order was an order of x15 females and x2 showed up Male. And I am actually very pleased with the x2 roosters. They are very alert, well mannered (when feeding), they do not fight with each other or my ducks. Very healthy, very pleased with Hoovers.

    Lets talk about layer feed...

I really REALLY doubt it was the layer feed. Never heard of this being am issue nor have I ever had the issue. I say it was a fluke. Sounds like there was more of a "too many treats" issues

Please please please help the ducks....

I live in Smithfield VA with around 200acres, natural wetlands. I'd be more then happy to have them if you prefer them wild/looked after pets. I will discuss it over with my wife when she wakes, but for now just voicing my interest.

What were your worst mistakes when you first started?

Not passing chicken math class. And thinking I need all this fancy equipment. Natural raising is best. Let the birds be birds.
