3 Day Old Chick - Wry Neck or Something Else?

That's helpful to know as well. And this is what a suspect will happen. I'll give it my best for a few more days though!

3 Day Old Chick - Wry Neck or Something Else?

Thank you Debbie! That's helpful to know. I just hate for her to suffer - and I am having to administer her food & water so it isn't sustainable really. But if she may be able to recover in a week or so - that would be great!

3 Day Old Chick - Wry Neck or Something Else?

Here is the chick 2 days ago when I first got her. She has not improved or declined. When she lays down or sleeps, this behavior stops of course. But as long as she is awake, some version of this is going on, and she cannot walk in a straight line.

3 Day Old Chick - Wry Neck or Something Else?

I have 3 day old baby chicks. Is it possible for wry neck to be present at day 1? Or would it likely be some other condition - like something neurological? The chick is presenting all wry neck symptoms pretty accurately (walks in circles, neck tilting and rolling and twitching, falling over...

    Lump on Chin

Her lump has about doubled in size now, about the size of a blueberry. It is firm, not soft. Her comb has more color in it nowadays, but she is still limping and has not laid any eggs still. The SLM they had are much better, but still working on that. No new symptoms however. Any new guesses on...

    Lump on Chin

Is this a virus that sticks around? In other words, should I refrain from getting new chickens or chicks on the property until these birds pass?

    Lump on Chin

Thank you! What else should I be looking out for if it is Leukosis? I wouldn't say the lump is rock hard, but it is definitely firm.

    Lump on Chin

I will keep an eye on it and document any size change. She has been molting over the past few weeks. She seems to be eating and drinking just fine, but she is hobbling around a bit. I just found out a few days ago my 3 chickens have scaly leg mites, so they are being treated for that. I am...

    Limping Bantam Cochin Hen

She is only 1.5 years old. Was not vaccinated for Marek's, but shows no other symptoms of it. After looking for closely at her feet, I can see that her scales are dry and a little crusty looking. I suppose it may be scaly leg mites. If anyone has an ideal treatment plan for that, please let me know!

    Limping Bantam Cochin Hen

Another symptom: She has not laid in about a month. Which is unusual for her, as it does not get very cold here in Austin, TX.

    Limping Bantam Cochin Hen

Hello! My Bantam Cochin Hen has been limping for a week or so now. When she stands in place, she lifts the one leg. I have checked for bumble foot and that doesn't seem to be the case. She seemed completely fine otherwise, so I was hoping the issue would resolve itself. However, overt he past...
