    FYI for sweet Pdz users.

Just thought id give a to anyone who uses this stuff. Wilco sells the small coop refresher bag, 10 pounds for 14.99 or 1.49 a pound. Or if you use the horse version it’s 24.99 for 40 pounds! Or .62 cents a pound. It’s the exact same stuff. Bigger bag different picture. Ingredient list the...

    Does Sweet PDZ really work?

Does Sweet PDZ really work? And for how long does it keep the smell from being stinky even if I clean the coop every evening? I only have two hens.

    PDZ or Stall Dry?

I see alot of people saying PDZ is dusty. Blain's Farm and Fleet sells this stall dry. https://www.farmandfleet.com/products/1342742-stall-dry-26-lb-stall-absorbent-and-deodorizer.html . I don't know if the ingredients are a little different, and primarily if it would be less dusty. Our...

    What is Sweet PDZ

Sweet PDZ is a mineral called zeolite. It is primarily used to eliminate odors and absorb moisture/urine, predominately associated with animal waste. Sweet PDZ is an earth mineral — it is non-toxic, organic, recyclable and compostable. When I first started using Sweet PDZ in Coop Uno the hens...

    Sweet PDZ powder vs granules

I have come across Sweet PDZ available for both chicken coop and stall purposes. While searching online, I observed that the stall version is offered in both powder and granular forms, with the latter being more challenging to locate. I'm wondering if it's acceptable to use the powder version in...

Sweet PDZ ok to use in compost?

I have a mix of construction sand and Sweet PDZ in the coop which I've been loving because I can scoop the poop out every day easily. Is it ok to use the poop that has both the sand and PDZ in it in my compost pile? I just want to make sure there are no chemicals I need to worry about since it's...

    Eating PDZ?

I sprinkle Sweet PDZ on my poop board in my coop and then add a light layer of fine pine shaving. My chickens love to peck at this stuff and eat it. They don’t seem to have any bad effects from it. So I am guessing it is ok. Thoughts? Thanks!

    Alternatives to Sweet PDZ

I need an alternative to sweet PDZ. I find it way too dusty for us and as someone with a dust allergy, it makes me sneeze constantly when i scoop the poop board. I found this one that is made for cats but it’s supposed to be very low dust, almost none. Is there any other alternatives?

    Questions about PDZ Stall Refresher

Can PDZ stall refresher be used on the entire floor of my coop instead of the pine shavings? I’ve only had chickens 2 weeks and the coop is already not smelling so great. They aren’t sleeping on the roosts yet, they huddle in the left near corner in the picture. Every couple of days I go in and...

Powder PDZ in open air run with wood chips?

I found a 20lb bag of sweet pdz powder in my shed. It’s probably 10 years old but has been stored in a dry place and looks fine. Since it’s a mineral I am assuming it does not go bad. I don’t want to use it in the coop on my poop boards cause it’s fine powder and would be dusty. I use deep...

Can you mix Sweet PDZ in a rabbit litter box?

I have a lot of extra Sweet PDZ (powder type) and I wanted to know if I could mix them in my rabbit's litter box? Would the granules be better if my rabbit's cage is inside my home because the powder might be too dusty?

    Deep Litter and Sweet PDZ

I am going to do a deep litter system in my hoop coop chicken run. I currently have an Eglu Cube in the run and was thinking of putting Sweet PDZ in the litter tray in the cube. Then, when I scoop the poop out each morning it would get added to the deep litter and stirred in. My question is...

    Sweet PDZ in Europe?

I have been reading all the rave reviews about Sweet PDZ but I live in Sweden and cannot find anything like it here. I checked their website but they say nothing about selling outside of the U.S. I see that it is made from something called zeolite but googling, I still found nothing similar...

    Too fine?

Is this pdz too fine of a grain for the poop board. It's all natural so should I worry about it? I plan on using a cat scoop to clean the poop.

Fine mesh strainer for sifting PDZ off my trays

...like I’m making Jiffy Pop and adds dust to the air when I’m doing it. I have 20 ft of tray to scoop and sift. Using a long drywall scraper to scrape that’s a gem. Pasta mesh strainers and flour sifters look too tight the pdz won’t fall thru that. Can I make one or something?? What would you do?

    Chicks eating PDZ!!!

After weeks of struggling with messy pine shavings and the poop smell, I have finally upgraded to sweet PDZ in the coop. As soon as I dumped it in the coop... my 4 nine week old pullets rushed over and started eating it! Would they die from it? Is it safe?

    Sweet pdz

Does sweet pdz really help the smell of the coop or is it just a waste? Ill be cleaning out the coop weekly and picking up any stray poop probably everyday to every other day.

    Sweet PDZ baby safe?

So, there was just a massive thunderstorm for 2 days straight here. I cleaned out the pens twice afterwards but its still pretty wet and there's a ton of flies. I want to go get some pdz to use in the coop but currently have ducklings. Is it safe?

Sand bath but instead it's all sweet PDZ...literally

We have sweet PDZ stall refresher that I told my mom multiple times that it is not the same as the coarse sand used for the quails' sand bath as she keeps mistaking the two. I even put them in different colored containers with labels away from each other. She changed the sand bath for once and I...
