Sorry that's my rubbish wording the chick starter I get has antibiotics in it and the mum has left the chicks for the other mum to look after so I was wondering how long it takes for the antibiotics from the chick starter to get out of her system
Hey guys
I have a question recently I had two broody Australorp hens hatch two chicks would of been more but my miserable isa browns decided to squash and eat them. Now because there was only two one of the mums sought of gave up and because I was feeding them chick starter. Does anyone know how...
I love the idea of hatch-a-longs and I shall join as I have recently (29 of November) set 7 indian runner duck eggs in my brinsea mini advance incubator. I candle them thus Saturday just gone and have a seven out of seven fertility fingers crossed it stays that way. They are due on boxing day...

So I'm expecting my chickens to hatch some time tomorrow and I have the brinsea ecoglow 20 I was just wondering when should I turn it on? I have read all the manuals that came with it and none of them stated how long before you put the chickens in the brooder do you turn it on

Would you that would be great it for about seven chicks at a time and most probably fourteen it would be goo if I could separate it somehow for the younger and older chickens:rolleyes:
Hey guys so I'm getting my new brinsea mini advance on Monday and I want a simple idea for a brooder but I don't want ones made out of them storage tubs I would rather have one out of wood ideas please ;)
yeah they do have feathered feet but they did say it was most likely cross so that would explain the comb so you vote for pullets that's good because I hand raised these since o got them and them two are the friendliest of them so it would be a shame if they do turn out to be roos
hey so I originally put this post under the wrong forum
anyways here I go
I have a sneaking suspicion these two might be males they are roughly 5 weeks old
Not sure what breed as I got them at an auction although I do think they are light Sussex's
Chook 1 ^
Chook 2^
I have Indian runners myself and when the drakes get old enough they get a little curl on there tail on one of there feathers that's the only way I know how to distinguish them
