Even with the silent gasping? I was given these birds fr someone who could
Not keep them where she lived. She is a photographer and only wanted spring chicks for her pictures. I'm guessing her inexperience lead her to pick brpilers. (Wouldn't have been my first pick). But anyway, they were...
Cross Cornish... Uhm well they range with the rest of the flock, BUT I only put out a certain amount of food and if they don't fight for it, they don't get copious amounts like they would like. They are very mobile and one hen with the questionable coloring seems thinner than the rest. But all...
Ok so my flock is about 50 deep. In that 50, is a set of 5 broilers, about 3.5 months old. For the past month. I have noticed some "silent gasping" in them. Checked them for gape worms, didn't see much (I know you can't always see them.) But then I noticed them randomly sneezing, and one of the...
So in was given to adult pekin hens about 6 months ago, I'm not sure how old they are bc the man wasn't sure. If I had to guess I would def say between 1 & 2 yrs old. They still lay regularly. But a few weeks ago, one hen started shedding all of her feathers. Her wings are bare and she's getting...
Had a 1yr old slw, she laid, then about 2 hours later was dead in the run. When we picked her up she was definitely dead, but drooling like crazy, and her face was purple. I would think choking, but her crop was pretty squishy. So sour crop? Choking? Any ideas?
not that I can tell. ive checked his hocks and his legs. it seems to be both legs that are unstabe. its weird, like he just gets tired and rocks backward and sits
i have a 3 month old roo & about 3 weeks ago, he started stumbling. he was perfect from birth.. now he CAN walk and does sometimes, but OFTEN falls back on his hocks. if he tries to stand too long he looses his balance and uses his wing to correct himself. I don't think he is sick, because he...
I know this is an old thread, but what became of the chick? I'm having the same issue now & I'm a little torn on what to do. I want to give it a chance, but is it worth it if it will never walk?
He was only about 10 months old, hie first spring, didnt even have his spurs yet. He was ruffled, lethargic, white/ green dirreah. He was doing the classic wobble/eye closing. I also have 7 week olds, not in any contact with the older birds, and I found bloody stool in their coop today.
I know this is an old thread, but im wondering if my eggs are affected since I just lost my roosterlast night to cocci. The girls have been on corid since mon, but if he was mating at all before he died, does cocci pass? And if any of the hens get it at all, does it pass into the egg?
