I googled hard chicken puss, I feel very confident you are correct :( I have no idea what to do, aside from opening it up and buying expensive antis and reading further that didn't help those who tried it :'( i'm searching for a vet locally that will see a chicken, not finding much in the area....

Where did you get your incubator? It should have a little control on the top if you purchased from a local supply store, as far as the humidity I kept all my "wells" inside the incubator full for the most part, once I seen the water begin to evaporate I filled it back up. I'm far from and expert...
I do not have the parent, I try to not bring adult birds in...due to the possibility of disease/infections. I found your comment on the post after I started a new thread. I'm going to try this first thing in the morning. I sure hope it works!
SO glad I found this post! I just started a new thread about a new hatched chick's eye problem that looks very similar to this ones, but the drainage on my chick is very bad. I'm going to try this above suggested and cross my fingers.
We purchased several new hatchlings today, the guy offered to give us one that had what he thought was "part of the shell" stuck on its eye...the poor thing looks so pitiful. It to me looks all matted up and draining badly. What can I do to help it? I have it on medicated food and...
I purchased the hens from a swap meet, it was laid on the way home. So never refrigerated. I will double check my days and the developmental stage via pictures. Hopefully it will come out soon!
ok I just candled again...I can see the chick in there and its moving, this is my first chicken egg, it looks totally different than my guinea eggs when I candled them, in the chicken egg I can see several "veins" and a larger dark one, I'm assuming the "cord"? I tried tapping on the air sack to...
I just don't have it in me to toss it, I can see it moving in there, its little foot anyways....idk what to do??? perhaps a very late bloomer? how long should I keep it?
I have an egg that was laid on the 15th of last month. I have read that incubation period is only 21 days, it is well past that...I can candle the egg and see the bird in there and sometimes moves. Why wont it hatch???
