Is it just me or does anyone else have extreme slackers. I had 2 hatch but no one else has pipped. I have been using a spray bottle and keeping the moisture up. It got past 80%. Plus the temperature has been all over the place since my room is always changing temperature as well. The two that...
Me and my daughter were playing hide and go seek, she hid by a tree and well two chickens were getting it on right in front of her and she kept trying to hush them and said "shhh be quite mommy is going to find me" I bout died of laughter
they are the coolest little surprise and mystery. I choose my eggs by size and roundness. I have EE/PR/CW/and differ color sexlinks. Plus faverolle mix. I don't think you have to, I cant get a good picture of mine
I set 24 mutt chicken eggs. Last year we had beautiful mixed breed. I have no idea what I'm going to get this year all I know is that they will at least have 25%-50% faverolle.
I had used pellet deworming last year and are about to do it again. I didn't see any worms I just notice that my flock is thin and no eggs. And they get fed a lot plus many scraps I have around 30 chickens all together and last year I had more. I forgot how long I with held from eating the eggs...
Oh. What about putting food color in the vent? I heard that's how some breeders do it. The egg comes out with a bit of color on it. You will get colored chicken poo though
You should try to see whos eggs they are hatching out of. I clip the tails on my hens and when they step in the nest box I wait till they lay a egg and write the name of the hen on it. Just a thought for the next time you hatch out from that flock
The rooster to all of them are faverolle and hens are EE, BSL, RSL, and 1 California white which is the black one. 5 of the chicks have long wings while 5 have really short wings. Is the longer wings girls?
I'm really liking this different colored chick, mother is a California white and father a salmon faverolle.
My last egg hatched today with a total of 11 out of 16 hatch for me
I had two shrink wrapped ones that I helped out, one is drying off in the brooder with the rest and one is week in the incubator but looking good. I opened the shell on the clear end then if there was no veins I broke a small piece of membrane away so they could breath. Just be very careful if...
