Mine or OEGB, sebright and silkie mixes. You can tell the little roos apart REALLY early, and I hear it works the same with seramas. My Little Dude was crowing at a week of age, when he was still up in my room in the brooder!
I hope your little hatchling is okay.
And your peahen is awesome!
Little Sigh's comb is too large for his age, and beginning to brighten. I can't be sure with Santos because he/she has a walnut or rose comb (I can't tell which yet).
My little september babies have grown so much!
At first the tiny trio could fit in a basket in my room.
Now they are old enough to forage in the grass. Little Sigh (a rooster, so no longer Little Sis) is on the left and Little Dude is on the right
Little Dude is by far the largest of the...
Handsome rooster! And adorable chicks!
Sometimes chicks just aren't strong enough to hatch, probably nothing could have been done to help.
Best of luck with the rest of your hatch.
I'm so, so sorry about Brenna. It is always so hard to see them sick like that. Don't beat yourself up about it, you did everything you could.
I'm praying for you.
I'm so sorry.
Best of luck with your eggs!
I'm done hatching for the year, but I totally can't wait for spring!!
I usually let hem sit one or two days more. The only time I let a hen sit longer is when her eggs went dormant due to them getting cold during incubation.
Beautiful, beautiful birds! I love...
I am so sorry. This has happened to me before and it is always so hard. The chicks are weak and you can just tell that they won't make it. I try my best, and they keep acting dead and then breathing again and it is so terrible.
How are the other eggs doing?
I have both Golden and Silver Sebrights, as well as multiple sebright mixes (both golden and silver) as I am working on a mix-breed that involves the species. It also involves OEGBs, but I only have two of those that are pure, Silver duckwing and Red Pyle.
Here are my Golden Sebright/Silver...
I love sebrights and OEGBs, I have both and they are awesome. I'd love to see how the birchen modern and sebright chick turns out to be.
I'm so sorry about the chicks you lost, I'm glad that some of them survived and are doing well.
AWESOME!!!
