I'm looking to buy two marans, welsummers or barnvelder hens, aged between 6-12 months. I am looking to add chocolate egg layers to a small flock. Anyone got any available? I am willing to pay well :-)

What is the name of the animal sanctuary that you were able to place your roosters with. There is a rooster that looks like a chocolate orphington at the sanctuary near me (high desert areaa little north east of California, and I'm wondering if it might be yours?
If you are looking to feed "as close to natural" but still want to ensure your chicken has good nutrition, look at Modesto Mills Whole Grain Layer. This food should meet your needs & address your concerns.
I'm looking for an older pullets, preferably 4-8 months old. Not too fussy about breed, I just need to increase by backyard flock by a youngster, since a few of the old girls have passed on. I an in Acton, and relatively close would be nice :-)

ACtually, I'm happy with an identification of "mixed breed colored egg layer."
I found out the chick came from Welp hatchery, and scrolling through their breeds I came across "Red Pyle Old English Game Bantam" - the pics were very similar to the pullet I have. The description of the breed was...
I picked up this pullet via a post on craigslist. She is approx 8 months old, and originally came from a local feed store as a day old. She was being rehomed because she is apparently noisy. I'm hoping for some insight on what breed she is.
She is predominantly white, with a reddish brown...
It's not unusual - if you'd rather they didn;t sleep in the nest box (since it can get messy with poop), try going in for a few nights just after dusk and moving them from the nest box to the roost.
"What are they?"
chicken feed LOL It is extremely unlikely they will be harmful to your birds. If it concerns you you could freeze the feed to kill whatever bugs these are & stop them growing, and just continue to feed.
These sound like Cornish Cross (CX's, as redrooster said). They are meat birds, bred to grow quickly, and be butchered at about the age yours currently are. As they are bred for such quick growth, they do not tend to be healthy birds as they age.
