My favorite hen (Henrietta aka Hen) started to get a bald spot over her crop a week or 2 ago, noticed it was very enlarged it felt normal but large, put extra grit in the coop it seemed to go almost back to normal checked her 3 days ago and it was even larger massaged it some and it felt almost...
Thank you guys!!! I'm super excited about 5-6 it's name is David (my husband named him/her and said no matter its gender it's name is David hahaha). When they get older and feathers fully in I'll post an update 😊
Got these little bantams a week ago, 2 pics where they're in my hand was the day after we got them. Does anyone know what exact breed they are? I'm curious on what they'll look like
Sorry for taking so long to update, got a new phone and forgot to log back in. Yes it ended up being dried up yolk and came right off but she/he did end up passing away yesterday morning....I struggled getting the swelling to go down enough to push the prolapse back in plus with him/her being so...
Sorry, yes her vent is prolapsed. I can't see her navel too well but can feel it there is a tiny scab. I just got out of the shower and in bed so will clean her tomorrow morning. I wanted to today but was nervous since I wasn't sure exactly what it was, now I'm thinking she didn't fully absorb...
Chick is possibly 1 week old is a bantam, just got him/her yesterday at TS I can't tell if it had an unabsorbed yolk sac that ruptured and is now gone and that's what's all over its stomach or what it is. The blue circled part is its poop which is the same color as the yellowish stuff on its...
Please help! I have a cayuga duckling that's almost 48 hours old hatched completely on its own, still has yolk sac....it was the last egg to hatch, the other ducklings are in the coop with mom. I put the duckling in the coop for a couple hours with mom and siblings today only because it was so...
Please help!! This little baby started to hatch and mom broke the rest of the shell overnight (duckling is completelyout of shell), when it tried to move it looked stuck, noticed that the yolk sac was still attached with some yolk (not a lot just a little) it was stuck under another egg when I...
I do have the means to fence off an area of their run with a smaller duck coop/house and I do have smaller kiddie pools for momma duck and I used a cake pan for when my other ducks were ducklings but wasn't sure what the best option was.
Theyre currently in the coop with their momma, 3 other ducks (2 drakes 1 hen) and 5 chickens (all hens) its an extremely large coop (8×10×6) with a large run (10×20) with a large pool (5ft across and 1ft deep) do you think when the babies hatch should I just leave them in the coop with their mom...
Asking for a friend, does anyone know if this little one is a hen or rooster, to me looking at tail feathers I want to say rooster but looking at comb I want to say hen...please help.
Does anyone know if any of these 3 are fertilized? I just found out about the white dot but very new to this, and the 3rd egg has 2 white dots so now I'm really confused.
Anyone know if these duck eggs are fertile? The darker yolk on in the picture with 2 I don't think it is but the other 2 I'm not sure. In the picture of just one there's 2 white dots, what does that mean?
