@Flowerbh CSRA is the Augusta, Evans, Appling(not Appling county), Harlem area. County wise, Columbia, Richmond, Burke, Mcduffie areas.
I think it stands for Central Savannah River Area.
Is there a reason you took it out? When you opened the bator you could have dropped the humidity too much causing the chick to get shrinkwrapped, which in turn will kill the chick.
You can either wait it out and see if it hatches or peel back the shell a bit and see if the chick is breathing...
Hey everyone!! Long time, I know! Life has been crazy this year.
Anyone have any hatching eggs? Lost quite a few chickens this year to a sneaky predator in my tree line. All my broody girls and a few of my pure bred and awesome layers are gone. :( Need to get some hatched so they are laying by...
Sounds like the chick pipped the internal membrane and has started to pip the shell. Get that egg back in the bator and leave it alone!!!!!
If it does hatch it really needs a friend.
Hey all! What a crazy year it's been. I just haven't been able to keep up here.
Anyone in the CSRA(Augusta area) that has hatching eggs available? Wanting to get a hatch in this year since I had several losses this summer. We actually went on vacation so I didn't do a hatch at all this year...
Awesome! I am currently hatching brahmas and polish.
7 brahmas and 2 polish so far!
I built my bator from a styrofoam cooler. This is the second time I have used it. The first time I only got 2 to hatch.
Oh and I am in Appling.
This may be an idiotic question but.....
I have my candling license but can't remember if this was ever covered. I read the regulations but can't find the answer either...
Can I sell eating eggs that may be fertile?
We have a young roo that started mounting our free range girls. Can I sell...
Oh yeah and hi again. The last two weeks have just been crazy here.
Anyone know how to switch the app back to 'app mode'. I somehow got it on full site mode and it is a pain the butt to read anything.
Ok so the stupid broody that killed her last set of eggs, stopped sitting the day after I took away her unfertilized eggs. I will never give her fertilized eggs. She is not trustworthy at all.
But of course I haven't hatched eggs lately so I got some polish and brahma eggs today. Bator has...
It's been awhile since I've been here! How is everyone and their flocks?
We are up to 22 now. I hatched 2 Marans out of my cooler bator. 1 Roo and 1 hen. They are getting big. Also Had a buff Orpington hatch out 5 cream legbars about 2 months ago.
I have 2 roos available if anyone would be...
Join hobby farmers marketplace and hobby farmers of the CSRA on facebook groups. There were some posted there a couple days ago.
I'd love full size polish. :) in case you come across any.
Hey all. It's been crazy busy around here and I haven't gotten a chance to update.
As you might remember my dead beat broody hen stopped sitting at 10 days. I tried to get an incubator built but had issues with the temp. By the time I got it fixed up and working all the babies had died. We...
I was thinking the same about how far behind they are. I really didn't think they would survive but I did everything I could to save them. If my chicken would have done her job for 11 more days, I would have chicks hatching in the next day or two. :( then I spent 4 days working on that bator and...
