...for you, and I would have been miffed myself....
Susan
Thanks. I know what you mean. I've been a member of eBay for 8 or more years now and **knocks on wood** this is the ONE & ONLY time I've gotten the complete wrong breed. I've gotten birds that weren't as nice as they were supposed to...
Yeah, I told her I wanted blue muscovies and she said they were done laying for this year...I then asked to be on a "waiting" list for them but she'd already refunded my money. I don't have the room for another breed of duck (although they are kind of cute--but just as messy as any other duck...
Yeah, it doesn't make much sense to me, either...but oh well. At least now I know what kind of ducks they are...now I just need to be able to sex them!

I would just add an update. Everyone needs to be warned what may happen when you buy eggs off of ebay. I know I've learned a few things from this post and other ones about buying eggs on ebay.
Thanks, I did
Here is her response, after I sent her the pics:
I know exactly what they are they are the ducks I hatched for a co worker and how you got them is beyond me.OMG I am so sorry.I had a co worker bring me a shoe box with her ducks eggs that the momma got hit by a car. and she wanted me to finish...
Hmmm...you should PM me with the name of that eBay seller so I can avoid them like the plague, LOL I'm always looking at sumatras & drooling. Although I just got my first 6 to hatch...

Sorry about your mutts...that sucks! What breeds were you hoping for? Any ideas on what the crosses may be? Yeah, I'm thinking black swedish or cayuga now....they sure are small, though...but maybe not...because I've only got big ol' muscovies to compare them to!

Thanks for the pics...cute bunch you have there! The bottom pic of yours does look a lot like these little guys. I wish I had room to keep them because I think I've got a pair--one is very noisy and the other is very quiet so I'm thinking a girl & a boy?
So I was originally thinking they were Blue Swedish because they still looked bluish. But now, they are for sure turning black with a greenish sheen to them...
The brown/white is one of my own muscovies. Again, he's just ONE week older than the two mystery ducks.
Here are the pics I took last...
So I also wrote her back again and asked if maybe a "wandering" duck of some sort came into contact with her muscovies--especially since in all of the pics, her muscovies are out of a coop or enclosed area and appear to be "free ranging." That's when she requested pics.
For comparison, I have a...
Okay...so I heard back from the seller, finally. She says that Blue Muscovies are "all she has." She even sent me pics of her adult birds, which are gorgeous and what I was hoping to get....she wanted pics of the mystery ducks....so I took a ton of them last night....
Yeah, I filed the claim with PayPal. Certainly wasn't $140 worth of eggs, LOL But money doesn't come cheap around here & I spent over $35 for the eggs with shipping. So it would be nice to get that back.
