oh just saw someone gave this to you...now cant delete this post!
oh now I'm showing my computer illiteracy, I'm not on facebook and dont know how to post a link.... but its under the same hatch a long as this one, just is a new thread called September silkie hatch or something???
i have started a september silkie hatch thread for a positive start to what is for me spring for you a waning summer. Hope to see everyone there.
Ruby just looked at your egg seller pics....ha ha youre little ones wont get a cold head in winter!!! So hope they come out just like the parents...
I was wrried about offending you by commenting as i did, and of course absolutely didnt intend that. Thank you for adding more knowledge to this problem area. Can well see how a drying yolk is a problem. Could be being exposed too much too quick could be too much for the air sacks in the lungs...
Yes its not nice seeing upsetting photos without a warning. Scarlet i found because she had broken the inner membrane and I saw the fluid. I'm trying to think how I will set my guidelines for intervening, and deepbluespace I totally respect your experience, but I would have to go further...

forgive me but I have forgotten what you are up to, i think you had a hatch recently?
keeping up with the thread is beyond my memory!

it feels horrid because you cant tell whats happening, but if the blood vessels aren't bleeding then the yolk should be absorbed, I THINK the only problem would be the chick doesn't absorb all the blood from the vessels. The first time mine bleed, it was red and it spread out, at the end I could...
dont know if this will help but you can see how much i opened the tiny green bit near the deepest opened shell is the little beak. This is the only pic I took.
a little pink blood makes me think its not going to matter if you end up loosening the whole chick. not much too loose.its breathing i take it. there is no way of telling where this poor little head is....my gut says keep taking shell and membrane off. check both sides tuntil you find a wing to...
