I believe a lot of people keep their brooders too hot.
It is my belief it that a brooder does not need to be 95 or above ever.
My horse chicks did just fine at 85!

I prefer to not treat for something I don't have.
OR use something for a just in case
AND
I have seen too many people that use medicated feed and still end up having to treat with Corid/something similar while using medicated feed.
Pasty butt is not just caused by what they eat.
TOO hot in the a brooder will cause it too.
Just saying.
I have never feed medicated feed.
AND will never feed it.
There are a lot of companies that don't even sell starter feed.
A lot of companies make a combined feed called starter/grower.
Some do sell starter, then a grower, then a layer feed.
