Hey y'all!! I've got 15 eggs on the way What's your best mailed egg advice on incubating? I've heard about letting them sit for 24 hours prior to incubation. Is there anything else? I've successfully incubated and hatched local eggs but this is my second time trying mailed eggs and I really...
The ones in the brooder now don't smell wonderful but not rotten. It's just been two days. And of course I emailed the super and they simply said "sorry"
Hey y'all, I ordered 8 eggs two looked questionable upon delivery but since I'm new I incubated them anyways. In a separate section of the incubator. One exploded one started seeping yellow stuff so I tossed them of course. The other eggs seem to be very fluid. Bubbles move all over the place...
Hey y'all! I read somewhere about putting Vaseline on the combs and waddles of chickens to prevent frostbite. Is this something I should do for my guineas too?? I'm new to guinea fowl.

Where's the best place to buy reasonably priced hatching eggs?? Looking for speckled sussex, jersey giants, orpington, and plymouth rocks. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!! :D ps: got an incubator for Christmas!!!!! Ahhh!!!
UPDATE: Sweet little Thelma is doing great!! She's a little clumsy but she's walking eating and drinking perfectly fine. Thanks y'all :D no sight of the hawk since.
There are tons of trees but since the leaves are gone they're pretty well exposed. They have a 50x50 ft area to run in. 2 guineas and 6 chickens. They have a coop and I've got tables and chairs etc that they can run under but I guess i may fashion a lean to against the fence.
Thanks for the prayers! I think it was a pretty young hawk because it didn't fly off with her and she's only 14 weeks old. I heard thelma and ran to the window. I think that's what scared it off maybe. This plastic owl isn't cutting it anymore. I'll be investing in some pie tins :-/
