...stored at room temperature. Any idea what's up? I didn't feel comfortable giving it to the chickens, so I poured it all out. Need to know whether it's safe or not. Thanks!
*Oh, and I thought about adding the Denagard last and stirring it, but I'm still concerned about whether it's safe to...
I wanted to make a final post.
Chick #1 is a cockerel.
He is being rehomed tomorrow along with 2 other cochin cockerels.
I was tempted to keep him, but I already have too many roosters.
And thankfully, Chick #2 is a pullet.
Her name is Lucy, and she is the cochin pullet I was hoping for.
Thank you for the replies. I am very eager to see if Chick #2 is a pullet.
I know it's too soon to really know, but I keep comparing it to the other,
hoping it's a girl, and not a slower maturing boy.
I have 2 other (blue) Cochin chicks with these,
and both of those are looking like...
I believe I have 2 Silver Penciled Bantam Cochins.
I got them from the bantam bin at the feed store.
I know it may be too soon to tell, but to me,
it seems Chick #1 has an already obvious comb.
These pictures were taken almost a week ago,
and his comb seems even pinker now.
So that has me...
My silkie hen was sitting on some bad eggs, so I put a few chicks from the feed store under her.
I'm wondering what I have. I think they're cochins, anyway; wondering what color..
2 chipmunks, thinking they're silver penciled or partridge or?
And 2 light blue, thinking blue or splash?
Thanks!
That may be true, but I'll pass. These are small bantam eggs anyway. I have a couple dozen large eggs in the fridge currently. If anything, I will do the float test and scramble these for the chickens to eat.
Why would I eat old eggs?
Thanks, I think I will give them a try and candle them in a week.
I have other eggs, but I'd rather hatch these, if they're still good.
My friend gave me some eggs March 15th. I put some under a broody hen, and they're due this weekend. I had some eggs leftover, so I kept them on the kitchen bar in the egg carton, in case another hen went broody. Today, I have another broody hen, but now I'm thinking it might be too late to give...
I haven't posted on here in a very long time.
Just wanted to share a few pictures again.
This was my pair, Micah and Chloe.
But sadly, Micah passed away a few weeks ago.
I don't have many silkies, but I am glad I have one pullet from them.
Foxy was the cutest chick.
She's around 9...
